It’s been a long time…

Goodness, how time does pass so quickly. It’s been almost a month since I last wrote. I am sure some of you were wondering if I was alive or maybe if finally I had learned what a life was. Nah, nothing that exciting, I assure you. Heehee.

What can I tell you about the last several weeks? They have been very busy. Between Yoga, home shows, book launches and guilt planes, my life has been quite full. Add in the ever-confusing work life and it is no wonder my PVR was at 97% and I am 3 weeks behind in most of my favorite TV shows. Sighhhh.

Yoga has been awesome. Thankfully, we are doing the extra 3 sessions in April. I so need them. I also need to get off my arse and write myself out a plan so I can get the instructor to review it before summer. I am so going to miss it all summer, though I have been looking at Pilates and thinking that might be something interesting to try. There are also some belly-dancing classes at a place nearby that I may see about stopping in to check out. My problem right now is most of the classes are just starting and I really don’t want to commit to anything until May, after Yoga is over. On another fitness note, I am loving my Turbo Jam dvd. Goodness is that FUN! Except the songs are so addictive they get stuck in your head and then you imagine the whole routine while the music plays. Or… could just be me. Heehee.

Home shows were both good and not so good. The Reno show wasn’t too useful as it was mostly about things we did last year. The Home Show actually had landscaping people and I am tempted to actually get one to come up with our plan. My parents and D think I should just pull out my University books and tools and make my own plan (since I did take a semester class about landscaping), but I am feeling rather lazy about it. Kind of like wanting someone to come in and help me with the planning of the house renos. I just want someone to do all the planning and I can implement it. I am tired of doing all the planning.

David’s book launch was fabulous! Lots of people showed. He did an excellent reading. He was nervous (hello, it is his first published book!), but it didn’t show all that much. Greenwood’s has an excellent bargain section – lots of erotica… though I only bought 3 books. In fact, I haven’t bought books in a very long time. I know – miracles do happen. Of course, that will change. Big event this weekend brings the usual events – dinner out and a trip to Chapters. Whoohoo! I will have to make sure my book list is updated and reprinted. I really need to figure out how to make it fit on less pages… heehee.

Guilt planes – it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. It was 3 days of Regina, with no plans, with people who aren’t extremely active, and with 2 huge meals a day instead of the several small ones I normally eat. I am amazed I managed not to gain weight. Whew! The house is just tense. You remember that age when you and your parents squabbled… a lot… when you knew one of you had to go or one of you would end up charged with murder. That is their house and to boot, there is a poor little six year old (soon to be seven) who is stuck in the middle. I truly feel for her. She spends a lot of time hiding or trying to diffuse the tension. It is not fair.

However, let’s review our exciting trip. We arrive at 11:45 pm on Thursday. We stay up talking until 1. Queen size foam bed = cramped sleeping, sore back. Up around 10 ish on Friday. Big plans – we go to Boutique VV (aka Value Village) and then the Sears Clearance Centre. Wow! These two can spend hours in these stores. I am completely bored and a little grossed out by the underwear at VV. Bed around 1 – back even sorer. Saturday, we are up around 10. MIL spends the entire day in her pjs. I convince SIL to take me and daughter to the only Goth store in Regina. I am looking for Angry Little Girl purses. Supposedly, the clerk gave the impression he didn’t think we would buy. Boy was he wrong. Called D and DIL to store so D could try on a coat (50% off!!!). I picked up the coat, a gorgeous Alchemy Gothic necklace, 2 purses and 1 wallet. Whoohoo! Clerk wishes for me to come back soon. I just bet. SIL spent $70 before I bought and mine wasn’t cheap. Heehee. Best moment. The six year old looking up at the toque her mother threatens to buy her (black fur and red horns) and saying “No, that’s Evil. I am not wearing Evil.” I leaned over and told her to wait a few years and she would just to get back at her mother. She is adamant she won’t – oh you just wait… heehee. Bed at midnight (whoohoo – early night). Sunday up around 9. Big plan involves Dollarama. Oh, don’t let me expire from the excitement. Sheesh! And in all the talking we did, I never got around to saying what is going on with work. Probably cause I was in denial. Overall, it was a good time catching up. Three days is my max if we are spending the nights with them. There is no alone space, which I need regularly.

But before I tell you about work, I need to tell you about the Regina airport. We left Sunday night (getting home around midnight). I always set off the metal detector and it is always my bra. I know this, so I am prepared. Sure enough I get pulled over and wanded. At first, the front of me pings at my shoes and a bit at the waist. The gentleman actually asks me if he can pat me down or if I would prefer a woman (first time I have been asked). I don’t care, so I say go ahead. I have not idea why the waist – my pants had no metal in them, just two buttons. He patted my shoulders and then had me turn around. Sure enough, my bra set it a-ringing. He pats me again. Then he asks me to spread my feet and he looks me in the eye and says “Well ma’am today you get to get a foot rub before your flight”. I laughed. He felt inside the sides of my shoes and along the top. Then from his place at my feet, he asked if he did a good job. Of course, I had to say “excellent foot rub.” I am good to go so I go to get my luggage. I am not done yet. You see, for the first time, I got my backpack checked. I came over and she was still looking in my backpack like she couldn’t figure something out. She called over a guy, who pulled me aside and rifled through my backpack. I said it was probably all the jewelry I had (after all, my new necklace was in there and a new dragon pin from the MIL). I got drug/bomb tested and then he went through all my pockets and my purse. D jokingly said they were checking to see if I could afford to travel, to which I replied, I only had a fiver and some change – not a good day for me to afford anything. I had nothing weird, so in a few bits I was done. They were really nice people who had a sense of humor and were open about things. It was awesome even if the MIL and DIL stood behind the glass laughing at me the whole time. Heehee.

This weekend isn’t much better. I am fully booked and next Saturday, I had some time to myself except I somehow invited some friends over to catch up. Oh well. I am looking forward to May, because April had about 10 days in which we weren’t booked for something. Sighhhh.

Ah work – the latest rumor about my position. I am copasetic until May. Starting in May, I will be doing two full time jobs in my one full time position. Supposedly M, W and F, I will be doing one job and the other two says I will be doing my current full time position. I still need to book a time with the boss to discuss how I can lessen my current workload so I can actually complete things in just two days. Sighhhh. Yep, that’s all that is new in a nutshell. So screwed up, but as the boss keeps reminding us, at least I have a job. Sighhhh.

Here is my latest fun thing to do on the net (when I have time to get on the net) – Looking for Group - at the very least watch the animation. I laughed so hard all while gasping at the video. It is hilarious and so worthy of gamers. Teehee.

Alright – it is after 7, which means I can actually watch some more shows on my PVR and hopefully clean it off some more. Sighhhh! It seems like a never-ending battle right now. We just need a few nights and we will catch up, it is just getting those nights. Plus I should make supper… sometime.
