Freedom is a length of rope. God wants you to hang yourself with it.

Well, it has been a while since I last wrote. So much I have wanted to document, but I just haven’t had the time or the energy. Now I am on holidays. So here are some of the exciting things I have wanted to share with you:

1. The whole point of role playing games is that everyone can get involved. They don’t discriminate based on religion or sexual preference. If you don’t like the idioms of one, there is different one beside it on the shelf. Bioware created a game that is inclusive and someone had to take offense to the fact the romance scenes are open and not limited to heterosexual pairing. Dude, it is the 21st century, get with the program and open your eyes. The world is made up of all types of pairings and games should allow for reality. My initial thought to the article was “what an ass” .

2. I have always been interested in polyamory. This thought that we are made to love just one person just doesn’t jive with me. And with the number of people on this planet, can you really imagine there only being one person you could love romantically? Ever? Some people prefer to love one person at a time; some people are open to loving more at the same time. I don’t believe either is wrong. I found this article to be exceedingly interesting.

3. I have been spending far too much time on youtube lately. I love it! People keep directing me to interesting videos and then I find more. Roll a D6 is hilarious – what an excellent video and the lyrics are fantastic! As a gaming nerd, this one makes me laugh!

4. This is also so true of our group. I think it needs to be playing continuously in the background…

5. I need to find Fast and Loose on tv. Brits are just so hilarious and this show proves it. Interactive dancing
Or perhaps you prefer Forward Rewind… I laughed so hard throughout this one

6. And then the boys… What a season finale for Supernatural. I feel so bad for Misha. They have put Castiel in such a place and my poor human brain doesn’t imagine this will end well. I love Castiel so much and watching him go through everything this past couple of seasons has been both delightful and heartbreaking. A fan created this video and I thought it was a beautiful tribute to our darling Castiel…

7. The Tony Awards Opening number – on my god, how hilarious! “We’d be twice as proud to have you if you go both ways. Broadway’s not just for gays anymore…”

Actually all of his songs were great in the show. I love Neil Patrick Harris. He is cute, hilarious, and a great singer. And his duet with Hugh Jackman – teehee…

8. And lastly, I have finally started my new position officially. It meant giving up 75% of what I did do so I can concentrate on the other 25% and when we finally have a better idea of what we do, then add to that work. It has been a drastic change at work. I am getting off on time, which has let me catch up with my bus buddies. I actually left Friday on time and not in panic. I don’t think I have done this in years. It was a totally new feeling. I had to have one person cover one job; otherwise, everything else is something I am working on and it can wait until I get back.

The first week I was bitter and my attitude was “F*** you, I don’t work for that department anymore, so I don’t care.” Not a great attitude, but it was not a great week. I felt very lonely and very left out. This week was better. I went into the week with a plan of attack for what I wanted to do, but there are no timelines right now. I can take my time. I can clean out my emails. I can organize my office. My desk is completely clean and tidy. My filing pile is done. My emails… are a work in progress, but in one day, I got my inbox from over 1100 to just over 600. So I might have been bitter about the change, but now, I am in it and I am enjoying it.

I still feel left out – after all, my direct colleagues are located distantly, so we are a virtual team. It means I don’t get invited to meetings or potlucks. I also don’t get invited to meetings, but that is a both a good and bad thing. Meetings are the bane to anyone’s world, especially those that aren’t productive. But they are also a social activity. So I miss that aspect.

Overall, I am happy about the move. I just need to focus on that.

And now, back to my holidays - a week of renos, shopping, and rock band! Whoot!
